Apple Design skill: the edit dashboard
31 Oct 2026. Same test as HQ: Claude was asked to make the dashboard feel native on iPhone, once with the skill and once without. The clips use sample titles and placeholder thumbnails (not your real list) and the page's own test video. Recorded in Chrome's engine at iPhone size with real touch events, not yet on a real iPhone. The white circle is the finger. HQ examples
1. Open a video, then tap "Edits" to go back
Today it cuts straight to the player and straight back. Both new versions slide the video page in from the right and back out. Plain Claude also shows the video's thumbnail until you press play (here a plain green box, because the sample thumbnails are plain colours).
2. Swipe back from the left edge (Home Screen app)
Added to the Home Screen there is no Safari back swipe. Today the swipe does nothing. Both new versions let you drag the video page away. The skill's version moves with the speed of your finger and springs; plain Claude's uses a fixed curve.
3. Open Filters, then close it
Today the sheet pops in and out. With apple-design it slides up, blurs the list behind it, and slides back down. Plain Claude slides it up but closes it with a cut.
Not in a clip
- Press feedback. Both versions add a visible press when you tap a row or button. It doesn't show up in these recordings, so it still needs a check on a real iPhone.
- Blur (skill version only): see-through header bars and the blurred list behind Filters. They look like iOS, but Safari redraws a blur on every frame. HQ bans blur on fixed and sticky layers for that reason, and this list can hold 600 rows.
- Plain Claude added up and down buttons in the player to jump to the next video.
Problems in today's dashboard the audits found
- The dropdowns (Sort, Status, Variant) are under 16px, so iPhone zooms the page when you tap one. Found by the skill run only.
- Enter posts a note, so on the phone you can't write a note with two lines. Found by plain Claude only.
- Found by both: the "Shelved" / "Abandoned" messages cover the comment box, the "Abandoned" message has no Undo button (Restore is a separate button you have to find), a tapped button or title stays highlighted after you tap it, and deletes use the browser's own pop-up.
Neither fix run touched any of these. They were only in the audits.
